Our Staff
Meet the Team
Our teachers are qualified to teach through education and childcare experiences. All teachers receive a salary and attend regular staff in-service training, workshops, and conferences in order to learn new skills in the art of teaching young children. Our teachers' most important qualifications are their love for and desire to work with young children.
3 Day Teacher
Sarah Snyder
Sarah has been a resident of Prescott since 1983 and enjoyed growing up in the small town. She discovered her passion for early childhood education in 2000, building experience across various local daycares and schools.
Her deep connection to American Lutheran School began as a parent of a student in 2006. Which inspired her to join the teaching staff in 2009 to deliver impactful, Christian-based learning. Sarah takes great pride in her collaborative approach and utilizes smaller class sizes to build consistent, meaningful bonds with her students.
Family is at the center of Sarah's life. She and her husband, Tim, have been married since 2002 and raised their three sons together. Outside the classroom, Sarah loves to travel and enjoys the outdoors. Her favorite trips are the road trips her and Tim take to visit the boys in their new hometowns.
Pre-K Teacher
Darcel DuBord
Darcel has been a Pre-K teacher since 2007. Darcel strives to get the children in her class excited about school. She is committed to preparing the children for kindergarten in a loving, Christian environment. All 3 of Darcel’s children attended American Lutheran School for 2 years each.
Darcel loves being a Christian. She feels blessed to be able to teach Pre-K. She says one of the best things about teaching small children is seeing how far they come over a whole school year. The experience is truly amazing!
On her days off, Darcel spends time with her family and enjoys writing and drawing in her art journal, reading or listening to music.
Pre-K Teacher
Charity Huard
Charity is one of the Pre-K teachers and believes she has the best job in the whole world! She grew up in ‘Small Town, Montana’, and moved to Arizona in 1991. While living in Flagstaff, she met her husband Brandon in 1992. They have two sons, Corey & Cameron- and added a daughter in law in 2020 when Corey married Linda. Charity is also blessed to be Grammy to Oakley and Anaya. Spending time with her grandchildren is her absolute greatest joyand she loves being Grammy! When she’s not working, Charity’s favorite thing to do is spend time with her family. She also enjoys being outdoors hiking, and sitting on her deck watching the birds and other wildlife. Some of her hobbies are making custom cakes, crafting, and thrifting.
Charity has always had a heart for the Lord and has been a Christian all her life. She loves sharing the peace and joy that comes through knowing and abiding in Jesus. God is the center of her family, and they faithfully serve Him wherever they can. She has been a teacher at American Lutheran since 2008 and feels very blessed to be a part of this school. Her favorite thing about teaching is the love she receives from the children and families, and the excitement on their faces when they learn something new! She enjoys each and every ‘ordinary’ pre-school day; filled with laughter, hugs, messy hands, many questions, and children growing in Christ!
2 Day Teacher
Brielle Williams
While living in Prescott for the past 4 years Brielle has found her church home and started serving in the children’s ministry where she found her love for Christ and teaching children. Brielle just graduated from Liberty University getting her Christian Ministries Certificate.
During her free time Brielle loves to spend time with her family especially her niece and nephews, whether it’s at home, in the mountains, or at the lake. She also loves spending time with her chocolate lab Bentley.
Brielle is excited to teach children in a loving Christlike environment, and to be able to watch and help the children grow in their new journey.
3 Day Teacher
Mellisa Williams
Mellisa is excited to begin her first year teaching at a school that she easily grew to love while her son attended preschool at ALS last year. Through his experience, she fell in love with the school’s core values, nurturing environment, and curriculum, all being Christ centered.
While being a stay at home mom, Mellisa obtained her Associates with a focus on early childhood development. She feels very blessed to have the opportunity to turn her dream of teaching into a reality. She is passionate about creating a fun, loving, and welcoming classroom that fosters confidence and creativity in safe environment.
Mellisa and her family moved to the Prescott area a year ago and are very grateful to be here. Outside of teaching, Mellisa enjoys spending time with her husband, their two young children, and loved ones. If they aren’t enjoying the outdoors together, then you can find her crafting, baking, or reading a book during her free time at home.
3 Day Teacher
Christine Beyea
Christine Beyea is a long time Prescottonian and has lived here almost her whole life, besides her college years. She attended Arizona State University and graduated with a B.S. in Kinesiology with plans of one day becoming a physical therapist, but in the long run she dreamed of living the mom life. She worked in physical therapy for over 5 years and then her career path shifted to becoming a P.E. teacher at a local Christian school. She quickly knew that working in a school was where her heart was and wanted to continue in this field from here on out.
Christine married her husband Chad in 2008, who is a Prescott native and has a long family history here in this town. Together, they started their family soon after marriage. After lots of prayer, God blessed her with 3 amazing children and the world of adoption was made part of their family story. Two of the three kids attended American Lutheran School and it was one of her most cherished memories. She feels so honored for her story to come full circle with her coming back to teach at this wonderful school.
Along with working at the school, Christine also runs a photography business on the side. She grew a love for capturing her children's milestones and daily life through photos. She now has the honor of capturing memories for other families as well. In her spare time, which is not a lot during these busy momma years, she enjoys starting the day on her porch with coffee and devotion, going for walks, family vacations to new spots and sometimes sneaking away to Hobby Lobby by herself. Ultimately, her greatest joy is having a front row seat with her husband watching their children grow up.
Teacher's Aid
Stacia Strom DuBord
Miss Strom DuBord is our lead teacher's aide. She started volunteering in the classroom after graduating high school in 2015, before officially starting work in 2021. She’s lived in Prescott her whole life attending American Lutheran Preschool as a child.
She has always loved working with young children and used to spend her summers working at Camp Maripai. A summer camp run by the Girl Scouts where she was lovingly nicknamed “The Brownie Wrangler.”
When not busy wrangling children, Stacia spends her days off with her family or curled up with a good book. She can’t wait for another fantastic school year watching these wonderful children grow and helping them learn the same Christian Values that American Lutheran taught her.

Lori Barbe
Lori Barbe has had the joy of serving as Director of American Lutheran School since 2008. Her passion is fostering a strong, faith-centered community for students and families. She is a dedicated follower of Jesus, a wife, and a mother to four adult children—three of whom are proud ALS alumni! Outside of school, she loves reading and journaling, hiking Thumb Butte, working out at Fit Body Boot Camp, and making memories with her grandson, Parker. Lori truly believes she has the best job in the world and feels deeply blessed to partner with families during this impactful stage of parenting.
